1. Information we collect

Newsletter: if you subscribe, we collect your email address (via our email provider, Buttondown) to send our weekly digest. Unsubscribe anytime via the link in any email.

Business listings & claims: if you submit, claim, or manage a business listing, we collect the information you provide -- business name, address, phone, hours, and your contact email -- plus login credentials if you create an account.

Event submissions: the organizer name and contact email for events you submit.

Contact & support: anything you send us directly, such as through our contact form.

Payments: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number -- Stripe processes and secures that information under its own privacy policy.

Analytics: we use Google Analytics and a self-hosted analytics tool to understand site traffic -- things like which pages are visited and roughly how many people visit. This is aggregate usage data, not tied to your name.

Cookies: we use essential cookies to keep you logged in (for claimed business accounts) and to protect against cross-site request forgery. We don't use third-party ad-tracking cookies.

2. How we use information

To operate the Site -- publish the directory and events calendar, manage your account, process payments, send the newsletter (only if you subscribed), and respond when you contact us.

3. What's public

Business listings and event details you submit are public by design -- that's the point of a directory. Your account login and contact email are not published publicly unless you choose to display them on your listing.

4. Sharing

We don't sell your information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the Site -- Stripe for payments, Buttondown for the newsletter, and our analytics tools -- and only as needed for them to provide those services.

5. Data retention

We keep account and listing data as long as your account or listing is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for our records. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time.

6. Your choices

Unsubscribe from the newsletter anytime. Update or remove your business listing anytime you're logged in, or contact us. Ask us questions or request that your data be deleted at info@uppervalleyconnections.com.

7. Children's privacy

The Site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the date at the top of this page when that happens.
